This beautiful detached Cob and stone-built house in Cornwall was suffering from internal damp.
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to restore the breathability throughout the building.
Our works commenced with the removal of the existing external cement-based claddings and stonework cleaning, followed by the introduction of a 3-coat Lime render to the exposed high-level Cob and Lime pointing to the low-level stonework.
The installation of a French Drain was undertaken to further assist the breathability of the building.
Following the external works, we then introduced a 3-coat Natural Lime/sand plaster application to one of the internal rooms. Our works also included the introduction of New Green Oak lintels and Natural Slate sills.
After allowing the appropriate drying times and to complete our restoration works, we applied a 3-stage Beecks Mineral Paint System to the newly introduced Lime plaster and a 4-stage Beecks Mineral Paint System to the newly introduced Lime render.
