Lime Plastering - Polkerris Cornwall
During the summer of 2014 as part of a team building event, Polymermedics Ltd helped the Polkerris Scout group carry out repairs on their Scout Hut. This building is the charming former Pilchard cellar on the Beach at Polkerris which is several hundred years old.
Part of this work included renovating three large walls using a traditional lime finish. We invited Leslie down to have a look at the building to see what he thought, as we had very little idea what to do. As soon as we met him, we knew he was the man to help us, he has huge passion for old buildings which is matched with an impressive knowledge on the subject. We were made up when he agreed to help us, he did say at this stage that it was a lot of work for one day but this did not deter him. On the day he explained the process and then set about training and supervising us through each stage. As being complete novices, at times things went wrong, equipment went missing that we needed, but Leslie showed incredible patience in guiding us and staggered us with his work rate, he was a man on a mission. At the end of the day the old Pilchard cellar looked great and everyone had a real sense of achievement which was the goal of our team building day. Polkerris Scout Group, and Polymermedics both send their thanks to Mr Cornell for making this day a success.Polkerris Scout Group Committee and Mr Derren Blewett

We couldn't have been happier with the work Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd carried out. Their response time from initial enquiry, to viewing the work and providing a competitive quote was all done within a week, no other companies did this.
We were impressed by their knowledge of materials and techniques and their understanding to undertake the task sympathetically to the buildings needs, particularly in respect of the age and current condition of the building. They worked appropriately for the jobs needs, even if that meant working on a Sunday morning, rain or shine. Cob Mixing and Clay Plastering – Pondhu School, St Austell
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration came to Pondhu Primary School to help the children with a “Green” Junior Enterprise Challenge Day. The children were learning about sustainable design and courtesy of Leslie and his team were able to “have a go” at working with cob.
The children took part in a range of cob activities, including cob mixing, cob brick making and clay plastering. Without exception the children all really enjoyed the interactive learning experience.

We employed Leslie Cornell Building Restoration to remove the existing surface and introduce a lime bag rub application to the south wall of our traditional stone built mining cottage in July 2014.
Leslie and his team were professional and thorough and completed the work to a high standard within an agreed time frame. We are delighted with the result which has exposed the granite lintels and highlighted the natural contours of the wall whilst at the same time solving damp issues.
