Lime Pointing and Lime Plastering West Cornwall
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to undertake various Lime applications on this impressive Grade II Listed Cob and stone-built property outside Helston in Cornwall.
Our external works started with the removal of the existing cementitious/Lime renders to the high-level Cob, and cementitious jointing applications to the low-level stonework. An appropriate 3-coat Lime renderapplication was introduced to the exposed Cob, and a Lime pointing application was introduced to the cleaned and exposed stonework on all elevations. A Breathable Mineral Paint System was introduced to the new Lime render applications.
Internally, we undertook localised timber repairs and introduced new sawn oak lathes.

Lime Pointing and Lime Plastering Bodmin
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to undertake Internal Lime applications to this wonderful Grade II Listed Cob and Stone Cottage in Bodmin, Cornwall.
Following the removal of the existing plasters, we then introduced a 3-coat Lime plaster application and a Lime pointing application.

Period Property Renovation Cornwall
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to undertake a Period Property Renovation in Cornwall.
Following the removal of the cement-based applications, the team introduced a 3-coat Lime render and Lime pointing applications to all elevations and chimney. A new cowl was installed in the chimney.
Our Lime render applications were then painted with a 4-stage Breathable Paint System.

Lime Pointing Grade II Listed House
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to undertake re-pointing works to this wonderful Grade II Listed farmhouse in Helston.
To prevent further deterioration of the friable stonework, we removed the existing cementitious pointing applications and re-pointed using an appropriate Natural Lime/sand mortar. By using a Lime-based mortar, not only does this allow moisture in the walls to escape, it also provides the property with a natural aesthetic, highlighting the wonderful stone used in its construction.

Lime Pointing Liskeard
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to bring breathability back to this stone-built 18th Century end of terrace house in Liskeard.
To limit internal damp, our works began with the removal of the existing external non-breathable cement render applications. As a result of these non-breathable applications low level damp could be seen on the internal walls. This was followed with the introduction of a Lime pointingapplication to all of the exposed stonework.

Lime Pointing Boundary Wall Wadebridge
This project saw Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd undertake essential repairs to a stone-built boundary wall in Wadebridge.
After removing the failed cement/Lime-based mortar applications and as much vegetation as possible (without damaging the stonework), we then introduced localised stone repairs and patch pointed the failed and missing mortar areas of the wall using a Natural Lime/sand mortar.

External Lime Mortar Pointing Mullion
This project saw Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd introduce a Natural Breathable Lime mortar pointing application to this end of terrace property in Mullion.
This historic property, like many others in Cornwall, had been subjected to a non-breathable cement render and numerous coats of non-breathable masonry paint.

Lathe and Plaster Repairs Cornwall
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd have been engaged in ongoing works to this superb Grade II* Listed Manor in Cornwall.
Our works, so far, have seen us undertake the Restoration of an Internal Bathroom. We removed the failed existing laths and replaced them with Riven Oak laths. Following the removal of the existing Lime plaster, we introduced new Lime Plaster and Lime Pointing applications, in Cornwall.
After the appropriate curing time, a 3 stage Beecks Mineral Paint System was introduced to aid in the preservation of this restoration project

Cornwall Lime Builders
This granite constructed 19th Century converted Chapel was suffering from internal damp.
To limit the damp within this property, Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to undertake Lime re-pointing works.
Our works commenced with removing the existing cement-based pointing applications, followed by introducing a Lime mortar pointing application.

Structural Building Repairs Cornwall
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to undertake Structural Repairs to this mid-19th Century house in Mevagissey, Cornwall.
Having received specifications from a qualified structural engineer, we used a stabilisation system that included:
- Lateral Restraint Ties
- Helifix Helibar
- Cem Ties
Following the Structural Repair to this old historic building in Cornwall, we then set about bringing breathability back into the building. After removing the external cementitious applications from the stonework, we re-pointed the property using a Natural Lime/sand mortar.

Listed Boundary Wall Cornwall
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd were engaged to restore a Grade II Listed Boundary wall in Truro.
The existing wall head protection comprised of a cement ‘capping’, which was in a poor condition, so after stabilizing the failed/failing stonework the Team constructed a treated timber wall coping framework to secure to the wall head.
This was then covered with roofing felt and a batten, to which Natural Slate was secured. A Lime mortar was then used to bed the ridge tiles on.
A Lime Bag-Rub was introduced to the Boundary Wall to enhance the stabilization and appearance of the stonework.
