Eco-Build Design Junior Enterprise Challenge Day

With a company ethos in supporting the promotion and awareness of sustainable building methods we took to the playground with lots of safe equipment to help young people understand greener building methods.

Pondhu Primary School was the setting for the event organised by Cornwall Learning Education Business Partnership, where year 6 students embarked on an education day designed around eco building methods. Along with Cornwall Sustainable Building trust, Natwest Bank and Premiere Inn we spent the day teaching students about sustainable builds. Having run through interactive workshops on what cob is made from, how to make it and clay plastering, support was on hand for the students to build their own model prototype eco-homes which they then shared online with other schools in England and France.

With so many homes being constructed today unable of withstanding long term weathering, not only are sustainable building methods better for the environment but they stand to serve the test of time with much better consequences. A great day to be had by all and hopefully provide some insight to young minds responsible for developments in the future.
