Following the removal of existing renders from Historic Buildings in Cornwall we, Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd, assess whether the stone or brickwork is in a suitable condition to leave exposed.
Where appropriate, we encourage leaving the stone/brickwork exposed and re-pointed using a Natural Lime/sand mortar.
Re-pointing with Lime is a long-lasting application that enhances the beauty of the stone/brickwork, whilst allowing the building to breath. Breathability is an integral part of the longevity of the stone/brick and will assist in the limitation of damp.
Our Lime pointing in Cornwall applications can be appropriately colour matched to the building substrate by using a variety of appropriate sands when preparing the Lime mortar.
For more information on our Lime Pointing process, please have a look at our Lime Pointing website page.
If the stone/brickwork is found to be in a non-suitable condition, we would then suggest other Lime applications such as:
Lime Rendering Cornwall
Lime Bag-rub Cornwall
For more information about these applications, please have a look at our Lime Rendering and Lime Bag-rub website pages.
We pride ourselves on being Specialists in all Lime applications so if you have a Lime project in Cornwall that you would like to discuss, please Contact Us.
