An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is land protected by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The protection is in place to conserve and enhance the landscape’s beauty and own special character for local residents and visitor.
There are 12 unique Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall:

Many buildings within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can also be protected by a National Trust Restrictive Covenant to promote the long-term care of the historic place of interest.
We, Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd, have just completed Building Restoration works on such a property, and before the works were undertaken permission had to be sought from a National Trust Covenants Officer. The National Trust Covenants Officer requested sample panels of our Lime Pointing applications for their review.
Following this process, permission was granted to undertake the works with conditions of which mortar mix was to be used.
