Historic Building Restoration & French Drain Mid Cornwall
Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd was appointed to carry out Historic Building Restoration and French Drain works at this beautiful Cob and stone farmhouse, which had been experiencing water ingress.
The work began with the careful removal of existing cement-based render to reveal the Cob and stonework beneath.
We then applied a 3-coat Lime render to the Cob and a Lime bag-rub finish to the stonework.
To further improve the building’s breathability, we installed a French drain with associated pipes, bends, pea gravel and Terram, then finished the trench with granite chippings.
During the project, we also installed new slate window sills and a slate dropper course to the gable end, and repaired the stone boundary wall.
