Cob Rebuild

A properly maintained cob wall can last for hundreds of years, but if it is neglected it will start to deteriorate and may need localised repairs or rebuilding. As Cob & Lime Specialists in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, this is where Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd can help you.

Our cob rebuilds start with making sure the foundations beneath the walls are appropriate for the load.  We then start on the rebuild by re-introducing the stonework plinth to prevent the cob having direct contact with the ground.

The next step of the process is to re-build the wall using cob that is mixed on-site.

Once the wall has been re-built, it is completed with the addition of a suitable capping to allow rainwater to run away from the cob.

Following the re-build, Lime applications can be introduced to help strengthen the structure and for additional protection against the elements. We are always available to discuss any Cob building projects in Cornwall, and if this is something you think we can help you with please do not hesitate to Contact Us.
