Listed Building Specialist Cornwall Cornwall has a rich heritage of listed buildings. These buildings have architectural and historical importance and if we lost them we would be losing a significant part of the Cornish character and cultural heritage.

Buildings are listed to protect them from unsympathetic alterations and demolition. This does not mean that a listed building cannot be altered, but there is legislation in place so that any proposed work is given full and proper consideration.

Listed buildings are classified in grades to show their relative importance. The three grades of listed buildings are:

There is a register known as a ‘Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historical Interest’, which is administered by a government agency, Historic England. This register will inform you if your property is a listed building. If you would like to find out more information on this have a look at the Historic England website.

If you are thinking about making any alterations or doing any restoration work on a listed building you must first obtain Listed Building Consent from the Council, and this is where we can help you. We have many years of experience in this field and offer a wide range of services, from Listed Building Consent Applications to Architectural Drawings and Plans to Full Building Restoration Services. To find out more please have a look at the Listed Building page on our Website.

We have had the pleasure of working on some wonderful listed buildings.
